MUNICH, Sep 8 (SW) - Bayern Munich captain Oliver Kahn has been suspended for Saturday’s German Cup clash with FC St. Pauli.
The German Football Association suspended the 37-year-old ‘keeper and fined him €5,000 for his behaviour at last year’s German Cup final. Kahn is said to have cursed at Eintracht Frankfurt fans during Bayern’s 1-0 win.
Kahn was outraged at the decision, saying: "It's ridiculous to say I insulted the fans.”
Nonetheless, club and player have accepted the ruling, with Germany U21 first-choice ‘keeper Michael Rensing expected to fill in for Kahn.
