DOHA, Nov 27 (Sw) - Iran can defend their title at the Asian Games after FIFA decided to temporarily lift the ban imposed for government meddling. The organisation of the games announced the news on Monday.

Iran was banned by the FIFA last week because the Iranian government would meddle in football affairs to degrees deemed unacceptable by the federation.

"FIFA has lifted the ban temporarily to allow Iran to compete in the Asian Games," the statement read.
