STOCKHOLM, Oct 31 (SW) – Swedish champions Djurgarden have sealed their 2005 season in style, after defeating second division side Atvidaberg in the cup final to claim the Swedish double.

The Swedish giants had clinched yet another domestic title a fortnight ago following their goalless draw away to Orgryte, and a 8-1 thrashing of Elfsborg had put the newly-crowned champions in the mood ahead of their Swedish cup final against second division outfit Atvidaberg.

Winners of the cup campaign last season thanks to a 3-1 win over Goteborg, ultra-favourites Djurgarden were eager to add yet another trophy to the club’s impressive record, and the champions’ fans were not left disappointed as their side clinched a 2-0 win on the day.

Toni Kuivasto made his header count as early as the 36th minute, as Djurgarden took lead of the cup final, and a late effort from Tobias Hysen in the dying minutes of the game shattered Atvidaberg’s equalization hopes and confirmed Djurgarden’s third Cup success in the last four seasons.
